Is it safe to give my credit card information?
Yes. We use encryption, firewalls and other technology and security procedures to prevent unauthorized access to your credit card number.

I have a job I don't want to risk losing. But I want to look for a new job. How can I remain anonymous?
Simply check the box, "I would like to remain anonymous" when placing your ad. Employers can respond to your ad by clicking "reply to ad." The response will come directly to our site. We will then forward it to your email address.

What happens to the personal information I give to WhereTechsConnect.com?
WhereTechsConnect.com respects your privacy and works hard to make sure your personal data is kept private and secure. As part of its general functionality, our server cannot recognize any information regarding the domain, email, or regular mail address of a specific user.

You can access our website home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data. However, when you voluntarily create a user identification and password in order to place, revise or renew an ad, WhereTechsConnect.com collects information about you. We do build mailing lists using this information to provide updates about our site. If you don't want to receive these updates you will be given the opportunity to "opt-out."

Do you sell my personal information to others?
Absolutely not. WhereTechsConnect.com does not share, disclose or sell any personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, telephone number or email address) collected online. In the future, should we want to share such data with third parties, we will first obtain your consent.

Placing ads
How can I remain anonymous in my ad?
See the answer above under "privacy/security."

Can I place an ad without creating a login?
No. We have worked hard to make our site accessible. To be honest, we didn't want to require users to login. So many sites make the process cumbersome. Yet we wanted our users to be able to renew and revise their ads easily. And we didn't want return users to have to reenter all their information. Creating a login became a necessity.

What if I forget my password?
We will send an email to you containing your password.

What if I want to list my ad in more than one city?
With the exception of the National Marketplace ads, each ad you place will be listed inone city. If you want to place your ad in another city, you will need to pay for an additional ad. For example, if you want a position (or have a position to offer) in both San Jose and San Francisco, you pay for two ads.

How long can my ad be?
The word limit for ads is 70 words.

What if I discover a mistake in my ad?
WhereTechsConnect.com gives you the opportunity to review your ad before placing it. If you discover that you need to correct or revise the information in your ad after you've placed it, you can do so easily. However, any changes made will require an additional payment.

What if I change jobs and want to update my resume?
Updating your resume is free. And it's easy. Login and make the changes you want. Your updated resume will be attached to your ad. If you don't have a current ad, you can still update your resume. WhereTechsConnect.com keeps your resume for one year.

Payment
What if I don't want to pay by credit card?
You can have your payment debited from your checking account. WhereTechsConnect uses PayPal to process payments. PayPal is a reputable company that has processed billions of dollars and follows all security measures.

What credit cards do you accept?
All major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Banner ads
How much does a banner ad cost? Are discounts available?
Banner ads cost $500 per month. Companies that want to advertise for 12 consecutive months can do so for the price of 10 months. Cost is $5,000 per year, a $1,000 savings.

What size banner ads do you accept?
We offer one size banner ad: 120 pixels wide x 60 pixels tall. The total file size must be under 12KB.

Do you accept animated banner ads?
Not at this time.

How do we submit an ad once it is accepted?
Submit your ads via email as an attached gif file.

What is the deadline for submitting ads?
New banner ads must be submitted by the 15th day of each month.

When will my ad start running?
Banner ads will launch on the first day of the new month at 12:01am and be removed between 11:00pm and 11:59pm on the last day of each month.

Can I revise my ad if I want it to run for more than one month?
Yes. New art may be submitted for ongoing space reservations once per month. Deadline is 15th day of each month for the following month.

Do I have to pay in advance of my ad appearing?
Yes. Payment must be received before the ad launches.

How can I measure the success of my ad?
As with all advertising, measuring success is difficult. However, research has shown that the click-through rate (CTR) is one basic measurement. CTRs average between .39 percent and 10 percent. The more targeted the site, the higher the CTR. That's good news for advertisers on our site because WhereTechsConnect.com targets a very narrow market. Advertisers should also consider the "branding" effect. Brand awareness translates into sales, as buyers will usually purchase a recognized brand when faced with a choice.

Do I have to buy an ad to enter the contest?
No purchase is necessary to enter. The contest is open to legal residents of the United States age 18 and older.

Can I submit an entry by mail?
No. WhereTechsConnect.com accepts on-line entries only.

Can I vote for my own entry?
Yes you can, but only once. If you attempt to vote for your entry multiple times, or we find evidence of contest tampering, we will disqualify you.

What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning will change with each contest depending on the number of entries.
